Title: Fall Migration Guided Bird Walk
Description: Fall migration through Hickory Nut Gorge provides an annual show many visitors return for each year. Mixed flocks of tanagers, warblers and vireos move through the Gorge on their journey south. And, the hawk migration every September and October is a spectacle not to be missed. More than 500 Broad-winged Hawks may be observed soaring together high in the sky on their way south. Smaller numbers of Sharp-shinned, Cooper's and Red-shouldered Hawks also pass through.

Title: "Off the Beaten Path" Guided Hike
Description: Park Naturalist, Clint Calhoun, will take you to areas of the Park seldom seen by guests. Learn seasonal wildflower identification; learn some basic animal tracking skills; get acquainted with some of the Park's reptile and amphibian species; and learn about the mountain’s early inhabitants. This trip will also explore some of the headwater regions of Fall Creek, approximately a mile before it becomes Hickory Nut Falls. Wear good hiking boots for the moderate to strenuous 3-mile hike, and bring a daypack, camera and water. Lunch and a hiking stick are included.
